Maintenance Mania® is a national program offered by NAA and presenting sponsor HD Supply (HDS), in which maintenance technicians compete against each other in various skill-based games.
Each NAA local affiliate has the opportunity to have their maintenance technicians compete individually to win various local awards and a chance to compete at the National Championship held at the annual conference, Apartmentalize.
Participants must be employed by a community in good standing with their local association or an NAA Direct Member. Members interested in qualifying for the National Championship must register as competitors in the National Championship Qualifying Program with their local affiliate.
At the end of the competition year, NAA will offer the top participant from each of the NAA regions, plus the 10 fastest wild card participants, the chance to compete in the National Championship.
There are eight events that are standard for all Maintenance Mania® programs. Each race is open to every Maintenance Mania® participant. To view the competitor training videos click on the link for each game below. Please note, these videos are for the 2018-2019 season.
Nearly 20,000 maintenance technicians have signed up to compete in Maintenance Mania® since the program’s introduction. Participants must be members or employed by a member company in order to qualify for the National Championship.
Participants can only compete in one Maintenance Mania® event each year.
The Maintenance Mania® National Championship decides who will be the Fastest Maintenance Technician in the Country. Over 700 spectators crowded the arena on the floor of the NAA Education Conference & Exposition to watch the best technicians compete for the Championship Cup and a pot of more than $20,000 in cash and prizes.
Each year, 20 finalists are selected to receive free airfare, hotel accommodations, and registration to the Apartmentalize. The participant with the fastest combined time in each of the 10 NAA regions qualifies as a Regional Finalist. The Wild Card Finalists are then selected from among the top three qualifiers nationwide.
Note: you must be a member in good standing with an affiliated association or a direct member of NAA and be employed full-time as a maintenance technician at a member community to be eligible to compete at the Maintenance Mania National Championship.
All participants should be there about 9 in order to practice before games begin at 10am.
